I am may and im an illustrator.I came into this world 29 years ago to my parents who were both in the advertising field.my mom, an FA artist and my late father, an art director. Art has became part of my everyday life since I was able to pick up a pencil when I was two and the rest was pretty much history. I studied art in LimKokWing Institude of Technology and graduated in 2000.My style basically shouts chaos; bright colours, bold lines+thin lines, random patterns. Tv head seemed to be my main object in most of my artwork due to the fact it represent media, film, music, tv, the computer monitor. All these elements which has been around me since I was a little kid till present. Only recently I have brought in other characters+style for I get bored easily by sticking with one style, I need to evolve every once in awhile. I can’t stay stagnant for I am a restless being. I can’t work without music which is one of my influence in most of my work.
My inspirations came from many different forms and shapes of life I suppose but as I grew older they were skewed towards a few familiar names such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Miro, Basquiat, Warhol, Pollock, Mondrain, Dali and now more modern names as to Jeff Soto, Micheal Perry, Buff Monster, Jonathan Ball, Andrew J Smith, Dave Mckean, Seth Mcfarlane, David Carson, Neil Gaiman, Jim Morrisson, Poe, Dylan Thomas , Kate Moross, Kitsune , Anna Sui, Christopher Dyole, Guilemor Del Toro, Christopher + Jack Nolan.
I have a few years of experience in film+tvc and 4-5 years in the design line from print to web to interactive interface design to storyboarding, altogether almost a decade long.
I'm a doodle addict and doodle as often as I can; be it small or large. If the photobug hits me, I'll go on a trigger happy trip with my d40.Other than that, having good conversations with a few close friends at a cafe/bar with good food&good music for dinner, a theater show or a music gig would pretty much sum up a good night out.
